The use of the ready-to-use selective medium Brilliant Green Bile 2% Broth (BGBLB) is indicated for the control of food for human consumption, animal feed and environmental samples taken in food production environments. BGBLB medium is recommended by APHA for the detection and confirmation of coliforms in drinking water, wastewater, milk and dairy products. The formulation is in accordance with the standards ISO 4831 (research for coliforms in foods with the MPN method), ISO 4832 and ISTISAN 96/35 which indicate it as a medium for confirmatory tests for coliforms.
