MRS (de Man, Rogosa & Shape) Agar was originally developed in 1960 for the cultivation and enumeration of Lactobacillus spp. mesophiles from different matrices. The formula reported complies with the ISO15214:1998 standard with a pH of 5.7 ± 0.1
