Buffered Peptone Water is a diluent for the optimal recovery of microorganisms used for the preparation of the sample and its decimal dilutions for microbiological examination or in the non-selective pre-enrichment phase of a wide range of microorganisms. In particular BPW is indicated in ISO 6579 and ISO 13136 for the enrichment of Salmonella and STEC respectively.
