PATHfinder Real-Time PCR kits are primary tools for modern food and water quality and safety testing. The kits detect in different sample the presence and the identity of microrganisms through their DNA.The kits are developed according to the norms ISO 22119, ISO 20838, ISO 16140 hence they include an internal amplification control, a positive and a negative control. This 4-plex kit is based on ISO 12869 (about molecular detection of Legionella) indications and in less than 30 minutes, without any DNA extraction step, allows the identification as Legionella spp. and L. pneumophila (serogroup 1-15) of a colony isolated on a plated growth medium. Genetic ID of Legionella colonies is supported by the most recent edition of ISO 11731 offering many benefits over the classic agglutination methods: cost reduction, processivity and reduced time to results, no need for an expert interpretation of results.
